After a probationary period of one year from hire date TWA / MES / HBW Iand#146;s are automatically upgraded to a TWA / MES / HBW II when tenure and performance requirements are met.

The TWA / MES / HBW II salary is $39,529.44.Based on training requirements, current or previous program eligibility experience, former Access and Eligibility Services (AES) employees may be considered for rehire at the TWA / MES / HBW II / Salary Group B13.

Essential Job FunctionsAs a Texas Works Advisor I (TWA I) / Medical Eligibility Specialist I (MES I) / Hospital Base Worker I (HBW I) you will receive paid, formal, training to perform the following essential job functions : and#149;

Interview applicants and recipients in person or by inbound or outbound telephone calls to obtain pertinent financial and personal information to determine financial eligibility for public assistance programs.

and#149;Evaluate data from various electronic and other sources to enter information into a computer-based eligibility system.

and#149;Compute and authorize benefits based on eligibility determination. and#149;Process work in accordance with state and federal regulations and established procedures, guidelines and timeframes.
