Project Manager - Asphalt & Paving

Job Summary :

The Asphalt Paving Project Manager will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and overseeing all aspects of asphalt paving projects.

This role requires strong project management skills, a solid understanding of asphalt paving techniques, and the ability to work closely with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams to ensure project success.

Key Responsibilities :

Project Planning and Coordination :

• Develop detailed project plans, including scope, schedule, and budget.
• Coordinate with clients, engineers, and subcontractors to ensure project requirements are met.
• Ensure all necessary permits and approvals are obtained prior to project commencement.

Project Execution :

• Oversee daily operations of paving projects, including equipment, materials, and labor.
• Monitor project progress and adjust plans as needed to stay on schedule and within budget.
• Ensure adherence to safety standards and regulations on job sites.

Quality Control :

• Conduct regular inspections to ensure work meets quality standards and specifications.
• Address and resolve any issues or discrepancies promptly.

Budget and Cost Management :

• Track project expenses and manage budgets to prevent cost overruns.
• Prepare and review cost estimates, change orders, and invoices.

Client Communication :

• Maintain open and effective communication with clients throughout the project lifecycle.
• Provide regular updates on project status, milestones, and any potential issues.

Team Leadership :

• Lead and mentor project teams, including subcontractors and field personnel.
• Foster a collaborative and productive work environment.

Documentation and Reporting :

• Maintain accurate project records, including contracts, change orders, and progress reports.
• Prepare and submit project reports and documentation as required.

Qualifications :

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in asphalt paving or construction project management.
• Proven experience managing large-scale paving projects from start to finish.
• Strong knowledge of asphalt paving techniques, materials, and equipment.
• Excellent organizational and leadership skills.
• Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in project management software and Microsoft Office Suite.

Preferred Qualifications :

• Certification in project management (e.g., PMP) is a plus.
• Experience with quality control and safety management in the construction industry.
• Knowledge of local and state regulations related to asphalt paving.
