Job Summary :
The Asphalt Paving Project Manager will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and overseeing all aspects of asphalt paving projects.
This role requires strong project management skills, a solid understanding of asphalt paving techniques, and the ability to work closely with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams to ensure project success.
Key Responsibilities :
Project Planning and Coordination :
- Develop detailed project plans, including scope, schedule, and budget.
- Coordinate with clients, engineers, and subcontractors to ensure project requirements are met.
- Ensure all necessary permits and approvals are obtained prior to project commencement.
Project Execution :
- Oversee daily operations of paving projects, including equipment, materials, and labor.
- Monitor project progress and adjust plans as needed to stay on schedule and within budget.
- Ensure adherence to safety standards and regulations on job sites.
Quality Control :
- Conduct regular inspections to ensure work meets quality standards and specifications.
- Address and resolve any issues or discrepancies promptly.
Budget and Cost Management :
- Track project expenses and manage budgets to prevent cost overruns.
- Prepare and review cost estimates, change orders, and invoices.
Client Communication :
- Maintain open and effective communication with clients throughout the project lifecycle.
- Provide regular updates on project status, milestones, and any potential issues.
Team Leadership :
- Lead and mentor project teams, including subcontractors and field personnel.
- Foster a collaborative and productive work environment.
Documentation and Reporting :
- Maintain accurate project records, including contracts, change orders, and progress reports.
- Prepare and submit project reports and documentation as required.
Qualifications :
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in asphalt paving or construction project management.
- Proven experience managing large-scale paving projects from start to finish.
- Strong knowledge of asphalt paving techniques, materials, and equipment.
- Excellent organizational and leadership skills.
- Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in project management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Preferred Qualifications :
- Certification in project management (e.g., PMP) is a plus.
- Experience with quality control and safety management in the construction industry.
- Knowledge of local and state regulations related to asphalt paving.
