Part Time Youth Services Assistant job details :
- Pay : $11 / hr.
- Schedule : 9am 6pm, Monday to Friday. Some Saturdays required from 9am 1pm. 22 -25 hours per week.
Essential tasks :
Under the guidance of the Youth Services Librarian, provides services and programs to youth and parents both in the library and at off-site events.
Plans and presents programs for children, young adults, and special-interest groups. Participates in collection development by selecting and weeding materials and provides readers' advisory and reference services.
Promotes the library through presentations and tours, assists with outreach to schools and community organizations, creates displays and promotional materials, attends professional development events, compiles data for reports, and ensures the proper maintenance of library equipment.
Qualifications : One year of related experience. Must be comfortable working with children. Experience as a teacher, day-care worker, or the like is helpful.
