Position Summary :

Utilizing broad-based skills in basic patient care, ancillary services, and business office practices, provides assistance to providers in accordance with PNHS standard and policies.

Education / Experience :

Graduate from a Medical Assisting program accredited by The Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) or Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES).

One or more years of experience desirable (preferably in a related field of medicine).

Special Knowledge / Skills / Certifications / Licenses :

Strong clinical and human relations skills. Ability to effectively communicate both orally and in writing, and maintains standards of clinical skills and professional ethics as established by the AAMA.

Basic computer / keyboarding / mouse skills required. Demonstrates knowledge of age related growth and development principles necessary to provide appropriate service and ensure safety of patients.

BLS provider status in accordance with American Heart Association (AHA) guidelines.

Additional Information :

The LPN / MA / EMT works closely with clinicians and patients while utilizing broad-based skills in patient care, ancillary services, and business office practices, proving assistance to providers in accordance with PNHS standard and policies.

This position provides direct patient care and support for our large and ever-growing Family Medicine department. You are expected and supported to work at the top of your training and certification by following standard rooming processes, CDC vaccine schedules, and following pre-visit planning standing orders.

Given our location and size, we are a relatively fast paced clinic and value diversity in both our teams and patient population.

Our clinicians consider the Clinical Support Staff, which is the team this position is a part of, as a colleague and partner together to take care of our patients.

Collaborating with all members of the team is how we have continued to have good patient experience results and maintained high quality measures.

We provide our new team members with a comprehensive orientation and onboarding program to ensure success in the role. This includes several weeks of 1 : 1 training followed by several months of feedback and support from your mentors and Leadership staff.

Education / Experience :

Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) :

Graduate from an accredited school of practical nursing. Must maintain a current state license of practical nursing. One or more years of nursing experience is desirable (preferably in a related field of medicine).

Medical Assistant (MA) :

Graduate from a Medical Assisting program accredited by The Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) or Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES).

One or more years of experience desirable (preferably in a related field of medicine).

Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) :

High school diploma or GED and current BLS certification for health professionals through the American Heart Association or Red Cross required and maintained.

On-line BLS certification is not acceptable. Must meet one of the following :

  • Graduate of an accredited pharmacy technician program or currently registered as a pharmacy technician with one of more years pharmacy technician experience OR
  • Graduate of an accredited EMT program and have current EMT license
