The State Authorization Coordinator works closely with local clinical and business office staff along with corporate Finance to ensure authorizations are entered timely, approvals are obtained from payer funding sources, and utilization is monitored.

Job Responsibilities :

  • Works in tandem with Clinical teams to ensure authorizations are requested from payer funding sources in a timely manner.
  • Monitors payer web portals for authorization approvals.
  • Ensures thorough and accurate entry of payers and authorizations in the Revenue Cycle system.
  • Regularly audits and reports utilization and expirations that impact billing processes.
  • Participates in meetings as required.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Education / Experience

  • Able to work independently and stay on task
  • Organized, accurate & detail-oriented
  • Ability to manage time, make decisions, and solve problems
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel / Word / Outlook / Teams and other computer-related skills
  • Ability to learn various software applications
  • High School Graduate or equivalent

Pre-employment screening :

  • Name checked in the registries. (OIG exclusions database, Child Abuse Registry, and Offenders Against Individuals with Developmental Disabilities)
  • Drug testing
  • Education verification and other credentialing based on position requirements.
  • Proof of employment history or references (if required)
  • Positions that require driving Proof of driver's license, driver's insurance, and vehicle, IF required for providing transportation for individuals.
