Job purpose
This position maintains the day-to-day operational functions of the facilities to ensure a safe and efficient work environment.
Responsibilities include managing the ongoing maintenance of the building office space and facilities through coordination with vendors, internal maintenance team, and self-directed repair work.
Key responsibilities
Office Maintenance / Operations :
- Procures equipment, supplies and contractual services in accordance with department requests and needs.
- Manages efficient operation of office equipment and utilities, receives requisitions for new supplies or equipment, identifies suitable vendors, coordinates service calls with third party service providers, generates purchase orders as needed, troubleshoots office problems
- Sets up and arranges training rooms for meetings and special events.
- Maintains the access control system, conducting inspections of the premises, and maintains the floor plan layout / seating charts for the offices.
- Serves as point of contact for building owner and municipalities.
Facility Maintenance / Operations :
Perform and / or coordinate routine maintenance on building systems, performing general repairs that do not require a specialized technician.
Ensures the timely changing of light bulbs, filters and other minor preventative maintenance items through monitoring our internal work order system.
- Maintain and administer fire protection and emergency response systems.
- Coordinate building improvement projects
- Manages vendor contracts and is staff liaison for building management for janitorial, security, cafeteria services, lawn care, snow removal and general building maintenance.
- Manages maintenance of facility equipment, air compressors, HVAC, etc.
- Supports ISO 14001 and 50001 Environmental and Energy Management System. Develops and maintains procedures and records in conformance to the ISO standard.
- Order supplies and materials for repair / general maintenance.
- Champion sustainability initiatives in the facility and administer facility waste streams.
- Availability to be accessible and on-call for after-hours events and emergencies
- Performs other duties as assigned
What we’re looking for
- High School diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor’s degree is highly preferred
- Minimum of 3-5 years facility, customer service, custodial, or operations management experience.
- Experience managing third party contractors and agencies as well as negotiating contracts for work to be performed / services to be provided.

- Knowledge and experience with environmental sustainability and compliance
- Detail oriented and consistent
- Must be able to work on a team
- Work independently, accurately, and precisely
- Manual repair and maintenance skills
- Excellent computer skills and the ability to remain highly organized (Microsoft Office, Outlook, Teams, etc)
- Good interpersonal and communication skills
- Knowledge of manufacturing environment preferably automotive
- Must be able to follow instructions, safety rules and regulations
- Basic shop math required (decimals, addition, subtraction, fractions)
- Ability to read basic blueprints
