YOUR ROLE
In this role you will be spending most of your time coding in COBOL to support the Performance Plus application. You will provide direct leadership to the resources assigned to your efforts and bring high levels of influencing skills for the other teams involved.
We are looking for someone who is seasoned expert in the technologies that we support. Who enjoys exploring creative ideas for problem solving, providing direction and leadership in our technical solutions, and will partner with the other teams in Genworth in support of our technical platform and business processes.
You are intellectually curious with a continuous process improvement mentality.
You will have the opportunity to learn new technology practices, platforms, and tools (Performance Plus, Informatica, GitLab, Eclipse, Oracle Comp, Back Feeds, Agile).
Using your broad applications experience, you will traverse the IT / Business areas to provide solutions that move our goals forward.
This is a fast-paced environment that requires flexibility and the ability to manage multiple efforts concurrently.
What you will be doing
- Provide direct support of Performance Plus and leadership to the vendor supplied resources.
- Work directly with the project teams and business community on their initiatives.
- Work with IT / Risk leadership on all data security implementations for the technical platform.
- Directly support the ongoing objectives of USLI.
What you bring
- BS in Computer Science / Engineering and / or equivalent work experience with proven results.
- Proven leadership, influencing, and communication skills across different organizational levels and with technical / non-technical audiences.
- Solid understanding of Software Development Life Cycle including project methods of Agile, Waterfall.
- 5-7 years of demonstrated proficiency in Cobol / Linux / Oracle / DB2 and data mining technologies.
- Must be able to quickly absorb, understand and resolve complicated technical / business issues under limited supervision / direction.
- 7+ years of Experience in developing innovative approaches and solutions to solving design, architectural, and technical issues to deliver business results.
- Your interpersonal style will support open communication, a collaborative working environment, built on professional and responsive interactions.
Nice to Have
- 5+ years of experience with Performance Plus, DB2, Informatica, and Linux.
- A comprehensive understanding of the Licensing and Compensation business processes.

The base salary pay range for this role starts at a minimum rate of $ 86,000 up to the maximum of $164,400. In addition to your base salary, you will also be eligible to participate in an incentive plan.
The incentive plan is based on performance and the target earning opportunity is 10% of your base compensation. The final determination on base pay for this position will be based on multiple factors at the time of this job posting including but not limited to geographic location, experience, and qualifications to ensure pay equity within the organization.
