The Software Engineer develops and maintains software solutions that align with customer needs. The work is focused on the development and maintenance of our web-based applications and peripheral systems for the domain management market.

This is a hybrid position that will require going to our Meridian, Idaho office 2 days per week. Candidate must reside in Idaho.

What you’ll do & how you’ll make your mark.

  • Collaborates with customers and peers to understand requirements
  • Performs analysis, design and implementation of software solutions that align with customer needs
  • Participates in the full software development life cycle and is responsible for providing simple, scalable software solutions
  • Ensure quality standards are met and standard testing methodologies are adhered to
  • Participate in an On Call rotation
  • Develops new solutions that are scalable and maintainable
  • Maintains existing software solutions, which would include bug resolution
  • Collaborates well with the team on all levels troubleshooting issues, new development, and process improvement
  • Participates in code reviews
  • Works independently with minimal supervision on both technical and non-technical responsibilities

Who you are & what you’ll need to succeed.

Scope :

You will typically work as part of a medium-sized Software Delivery Team of 10-15 people.

Position Requirements :

  • Demonstrable proficiency in software engineering techniques and methodologies
  • Demonstrable proficiency in Java and / or JavaScript and / or SQL development and related tools is required
  • Develop and deliver feature requirements in a timely manner with acceptable unit test code coverage, and adhering to team coding standards
  • Work with team members to help plan, estimate, and develop solutions to unique technical problems
  • Work independently with little or no direction
  • Quickly raise issues or concerns to the team and drive discussion end to end
  • Accountable for themselves and success of the team
  • Facilitate trust and collaboration by contributing and soliciting feedback
  • Proactively communicate with peers and offer constructive feedback, raise risks, concerns, and roadblocks

Education :

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a minimum of 4 years of work in a related field.

Skills and Experience :

  • A minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience
  • Fundamental understanding of core Agile principles and frameworks (Kanban, Scrum, etc.)
  • Knowledge of Linux
  • Solid understanding of Java or equivalent programming language is required
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the drive to learn new technologies
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong aptitude to quickly learn new processes, skills, technology, and tools
  • Ability to self-evaluate and quickly adapt to change
  • Experience with delivering web-based applications
  • Experience with consuming, designing and extending APIs (e.g. REST, CQRS)
  • Experience working with cloud-based applications and cloud tools preferably AWS
  • Experience with writing automated tests
  • Good verbal and written communication skills in English
  • Capable of working tasks with medium-high risk / complexity / challenge
