job summary :
Growing design-build manufacturer in the Overland Park, KS area is seeking a Design Engineering Manager to add to their team.
The ideal candidate will have excellent presentation skills, previous management experience in manufacturing and a background in fluid / hydraulics or wind dynamics.
Design experience with Inventor highly preferred. The Design Engineering Manager will oversee a team of 4 direct reports.
Previous supervisory experience required. Occasional travel may be required, less than 15%. Excellent benefits, corporate culture and profit sharing!
Candidates must be eligible to work in the US without requiring sponsorship now or in the future.
responsibilities :
- Oversee the activities of the 4 employee Design Engineer Group to create 3D models and for new product designs and as well as accurate drawings for production
- Oversee and participate in the development of mechanical, hydraulic, power transfer and structural designs, and the development of supporting company documents
- Provide support for Manufacturing, Sales, Field Service, and other Departments within the Company and write / revise maintenance manuals.
Requirements :
- B.S. in engineering from an accredited university, Mechanical Engineering preferred
- 5+ years of management experience in manufacturing
- Experience in product development and manufacturing systems - hydraulic / computational fluid dynamics (FEA / CFD) and MathCAD experience desired
- Excellent communication / presentation skills required
- Inventor / AutoCAD proficiency
- Some travel required, very minimal, less than 15%.
