Summary :

The Manufacturing Maintenance Technician will play a vital role in maintaining various corrugated converting machines, including Flexo Folder Gluers, Rotary Die Cutters, Flat Bed Die Cutters, Specialty Folder Gluers, and Litho Laminators.

This Job includes a $1,500 Sing - On Bonus

Schedule : Monday - Thursday 7 : 30 PM - 6 : 00 AM

Fridays : (Overtime As Needed) 7 : 30 PM - 6 : 00 AM

Essential Functions :

Ensures operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements on engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines;

following diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specifications; troubleshooting malfunctions.

  • Locates sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation; listening for problems; using precision measuring and testing instruments.
  • Removes defective parts by dismantling devices; using hoists, cranes, and hand and power tools; examining form and texture of parts.
  • Determines changes in dimensional requirements of parts by inspecting used parts, using rules, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments.
  • Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments by using hand tools, levels, plumb bobs, and straightedges.
  • Controls downtime by informing production workers of routine preventive maintenance techniques; monitoring compliance.
  • Fabricates repair parts by using machine shop instrumentation and equipment.
  • Maintains equipment, parts, and supplies inventories by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed equipment, parts, and supplies;

placing and expediting orders; verifying receipt.

  • Conserves maintenance resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results.
  • Provides mechanical maintenance information by answering questions and requests.
  • Prepares mechanical maintenance reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
  • Maintains continuity among work teams by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
  • Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

Required Skills

  • Excellent troubleshooting and installation skills
  • Knowledge of electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic conveyor system
  • Use job related terminology, symbols, and abbreviations properly
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings, schematics, and blueprints
  • Possess basic math and computer skills
  • Ability to speak and write in English
  • Basic knowledge of metal fabrication, welding, and plumbing
  • Skilled in repairing mechanical equipment and machinery
  • Bears professionalism to work in a team environment
  • Proper use of all hand and power tools (to include multi meters, micrometer, and calipers)
  • Observe products quality to determine problems
  • Know how to adjust machine eccentrics to parallel rolls
  • Able to Ohm out, test wiring insulation and meg motors
  • Understanding of electrical and pneumatic switches
  • Understanding of PLC and CPU
  • Three phase wiring
  • Ability to identify all bearings and their placement
  • Ability to perform machine rebuild with little to no supervision
  • Install / align closed gear drives
  • Maintain safety guards
  • Fabricate hydraulic lines
  • Neat and clean workstation
  • Perform proper Lock Out

Education & Experience :

  • A post-high school diploma and at least three (2) years previous experience in a Corrugated production plant or five (5) years of industrial maintenance work in a manufacturing environment.
  • Fabrication Experince Preferred (Mig & Stick Welding)
  • Electro-Mechanical Experience Preferred

Physical Demands :

This position is required to stand and walk up to 2 / 3 of the time. This position is required to sit, use hands to finger, handle, or touch, talk or hear more than 2 / 3 of the time.

This position does require the individual to lift up to 100 pounds.

Work Environment :

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is frequently exposed to hot and / or humid as well as cold conditions.

The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes, airborne particles, vibrations, louder than normal environments, and high paced atmosphere.
