Summary :

In this role, you will work within a driven and collaborative legal team and with various other company representatives and outside counsel to provide legal and strategic support across the entire company with a focus on representing the company’s interests in North America.

This position reports directly to and works closely with the Head of Legal Affairs, and you will have regular interactions with the General Counsel and other senior leaders within the business.

You will work on a wide variety of issues, and gain a deep understanding of the numerous legal issues affecting the pharmaceutical industry.

THIS POSITION IS HYBRID : 3 DAYS IN OFFICE; 2 DAYS REMOTE

The position will feature the following primary responsibilities :

  • Work closely with the Head of Legal Affairs and other members of the legal team, strategically manage legal issues with and without external counsel, and provide legal advice to business leaders throughout the company.
  • Review, draft, and negotiate a variety of legal agreements, including but not limited to customer agreements, R&D agreements, distribution agreements, vendor / service agreements, supply agreements, licensing agreements and M&A agreements, and advise the company in other related transactional matters.
  • Provide legal advice to business units across the company, including advice regarding transactions, and regulatory issues.
  • When necessary, assist the litigation team in managing litigation and investigation matters, including business disputes and regulatory matters.

Qualifications :

  • Juris Doctorate, with minimum of 2+ years of legal experience in a law firm, in-house, and / or government role with experience in life sciences and / or healthcare regulatory and compliance issues.
  • Admission to practice in at least one state with ability to secure New Jersey in-house certification.
  • Proven track record advising clients, preferably in the pharmaceutical industry.
  • Experience in corporate legal matters.
  • Must be a self-starter and be able to work independently. At the same time, it is imperative that candidate is a consummate team player.
  • Excellent team player who likes to work on a dynamic team, learn and continually evolve.
  • Must be comfortable working in a fluid environment. Candidates must be eager to delve into new areas as needed and undertake projects as needed.
  • Must have outstanding written and oral communication skills and the ability to think analytically to understand complex, ambiguous problems or issues and articulate solutions / conclusions clearly and concisely.

Must be able to communicate effectively with individuals of varying professional, educational and cultural backgrounds and be able to make complex legal concepts accessible to all audiences.

  • Must be a business-minded professional who is responsive to client needs and brings a clear pragmatic, solution-driven sensibility coupled with sound judgment.
  • Must be hands-on, roll-up-the-sleeves professional with a can-do attitude.
  • Ability to travel occasionally within the U.S., and occasionally internationally, will be required.

Actual base compensation may vary based on a number of factors, including but not limited to geographical location and experience.

In addition, this position is part of the Annual Performance Bonus Plan. Employees are eligible to participate in Company employee benefit programs which include medical, dental and vision coverage;
