ResponsibilitiesEstablished in 2023, the ByteDance Doubao (Seed) Team is dedicated to building industry-leading AI foundation models.

We aim to make world-leading research and foster both technological and social progress.With a long-term vision and a strong commitment to the AI field, the Team conducts research in a range of areas including natural language processing (NLP), computer vision (CV), and speech recognition and generation.

It has labs and researcher roles in China, Singapore, and the US. Leveraging substantial data and computing resources and through continued investment in these domains, our team has built a proprietary general-purpose model with multimodal capabilities.

In the Chinese market, Doubao models power over 50 ByteDance apps and business lines, including Doubao, Coze, and Dreamina, and was launched to external enterprise clients through Volcano Engine.

We focus on cutting-edge R&D in areas like multi-modal understanding, vision and language, foundation models, audio / music understanding and generation with an emphasis on content creation.

The team is a mix of experienced research scientists and research engineers, aiming to push the research boundaries in multi-modality and applying our research results to improve the experience of users.

We are looking for talented individuals to join us for an internship in 2025. Internships at ByteDance aim to offer students industry exposure and hands-on experience.

This Internship Program runs for 12 weeks beginning in May / June 2025. Candidates can apply to a maximum of two positions and will be considered for jobs in the order you apply.

Responsibilities- Conduct cutting-edge research and development in computer vision and natural language processing, especially in the areas of multi-modality, vision and language, etc.

Publish our latest research results, and help to build our brand in the research community.- Transfer our research results to product applications, and explore new product ideas with CV / NLP at its core.

Qualifications- Currently pursuing a PhD in Software Development, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical discipline.

• Able to commit to working for 12 weeks during Summer 2025.- Research experience in multi-modal understanding, vision and language, such as video captioning, VQA, Text-to-video retrieval, audio / music understanding and generation, and other related topics.
• Publications in top-tier venues, such as CVPR, ECCV, ICCV, NeurIPS, ICLR, ICML, EMNLP, ACL, COLING, etc.- Highly competent in algorithms and programming;

Strong coding skills in Python and popular deep learning frameworks.- Must obtain work authorization in country of employment at the time of hire, and maintain ongoing work authorization during employment.

Preferred Qualifications : - Graduating December 2025 onwards with intent to return to degree-program after the completion of the internship.
