We are looking for an industrial robot controls engineer to join our growing team! Perellion is a Fanuc-authorized robotics system integrator whose projects include designing, building, and deploying clean-sheet automation and manufacturing solutions for cutting-edge technologies of the future such as electric aircraft, commercial spacecraft, batteries, and clean energy.
The projects we take on are challenging but also rewarding and often involve solving problems in ways that have never been done before.
As a robotics controls engineer at Perellion, you’d be working across multiple projects with support from a senior controls engineer.
As part of a team including mechanical and electrical engineers, you would play a direct role in bringing each project from concept to full scale production.
Your responsibilities would include extensive hands-on work in addition to more traditional desk-based engineering work.
In addition to industrial robots, our projects incorporate a wide range of control systems such as PLCs, CNCs, and custom microcontrollers - and involve programming in a variety of languages including SCL / structured-text, ladder logic, C#, and C.
We support our early-career engineers with training and mentoring.
Due to the nature of our work, all engineering positions at Perellion are full-time in-person / in-the-office.
Requirements :
- 2-5 years’ experience programming robot controllers and delivering automation systems to customers
- Enjoyable person to be around. Our team is made up of great people with generally positive attitudes, we like to work with each other, and we’d like to keep it that way.
- Strong communication skills. This is as important as engineering capabilities.
- Self-directed and able to work independently in an environment that emphasizes individual ownership and responsibility, and where requirements may not always be well-defined
- Willingness to get your hands dirty helping debug and troubleshoot electromechanical systems
- Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related engineering field (Aero / Astro, Manufacturing)
Bonus points :
- Work experience at a Fanuc Authorized Systems Integrator
- Completed formal Fanuc Robot Programming Training : HandlingTool, RoboGuide, Cobot, Vision
- Familiarity with robot safety requirements for industrial robots and cobots
- Hands-on mechanical experience such as auto repair, construction, bicycle repair, welding, and machining
- Senior capstone or professional experience in PLC programming, microcontrollers, etc.
- Experience with hands-on electrical design and troubleshooting
