Quality Manager - Kiewit Power Engineering
Location : Lenexa, KS, US
Leads Engineering Quality across multiple projects with a team of up to 5. Sets clear expectations, coaches the team, verifies that projects are following the process and meet company, contract, and code requirements. Creates, plans, and runs audits, tracks issues to closure, and drives measurable improvements within the district.
Kiewit's Power Engineering Group brings various project types to life across North America, including gas-fired generation, power delivery, environmental retrofits, renewables and new technology, and water / wastewater. Our staff leads the power markets engineering process and collaborates with Kiewit's construction teams to focus on safe, cost-effective and innovative designs that achieve client expectations and further Kiewit's legacy of excellence.
This position is based out of our office in Lenexa, KS.
Responsibilities
Stand up the QMS on projects; keep it simple and used.
Plan and lead audits (single and multi-assessor).
Ensure peer reviews are performed and documented (calcs, specs, drawings, models).
Review revision control for design changes, deviations, and RFIs.
Partner with estimating, procurement, construction, and warranty to provide "life of the project" quality coverage.
Facilitate risk identification and tracking.
Assist with building PowerBI report dashboards for tracking Quality Issues and audit findings.
Assign, manage, and mentor a quality team of up to 5 based depending on scope.
Translate procedural requirements into practical steps for engineers and PMs.
Maintain relevant certifications and working knowledge of codes / standards.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in engineering or related technical field.
Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Relevant quality certifications preferred : ASQ Certified Quality Auditor, ASQ Certified Manager of Quality and Organizational Excellence, Six Sigma Green Belt, etc.
Ability to travel to project sites as needed (at most monthly).
