DataCLIENT and Inventory : Identify catalog and classify data assetsincluding datasets databases andmetadata.
CatalogMetadata Management : Work with data stewards to develop andmaintain standardized metadata descriptions for data assetscapturing key attributes such as data source format structurequality and usagerestrictions.
TaxonomyDevelopment : Define and implement data classification schemastaxonomies and ontologies to organize and categorize data assetsaccording to IT standards domainspecific topics themes andattributes.
DataProfiling and Quality Assessment : Conduct data profiling andquality assessment activities to evaluate the completeness accuracyand consistency of data assets identifying data gaps anomalies anderrors together with the data stewards and datasource SubjectMatter Experts(SMEs).
DataGovernance Support : Collaborate with data governance members toestablish and enforce data cataloging policies standards andprocedures that promote consistency reliability and compliance withregulatoryrequirements.
StakeholderEngagement : Work closely with data owners stewards consumers andstakeholders across the department to understand their data needsrequirements and priorities and ensure that cataloged data assetsmeet theirexpectations.
Trainingand Documentation : Provide training and documentation support todata stewards on data cataloging best practices tools and processesenabling them to effectively discover access and utilize all dataresources.
Leadershipand Mentorship : Provide leadership guidance and mentorship tojunior staff members and colleagues fostering a culture ofcontinuous learning innovation and excellence in D&Apractices.
Implementand monitor data governance processes including data accesscontrols data retention policies and data life cyclemanagement.
Coordinatewith D&A team data governance members and department staffworking with D&A to improve the quality integrity andgovernance of data assets within thedepartment.
RequiredKnowledge Skills & Abilities(KSAs) :
35 yearsexperience in data management metadata management data governanceor informationmanagement.
Familiaritywith data dictionaries and data cataloging tools and platforms suchas Informatica. (Proficiency level4)
Understandingof data governance principles data quality data stewardshippractices and regulatory compliance requirements. (Proficiencylevel4)
Strongorganizational skills and attention to detail with the ability toaccurately catalog and document complex data assets. (Proficiencylevel4)
Knowledgeof metadata standards and frameworks such as Dublin Core ISO 19115and FGDCCSDGM. (Proficiency level3)
Ability toestablish and maintain effective working relationships with others.(Proficiency level3)
