Duties
- This position serves as a Field Manager for the Color Country District.
- Provides direction, coaching and support to facilitate problem solving and accomplishment of Field Office goals and programs.
- Assigns work based on priorities and capabilities of subordinate supervisors and employees; reviews work for adequacy and accuracy, policy and regulatory compliance and application.
- Advises District Manager of program accomplishments, problems, and impact of changes.
- Performs personnel management functions such as selection of employees; establishing performance standards and evaluating performance;
identifying developmental and training needs; and providing and making provisions for training.
- Responsible for planning, budgeting, organizing, implementing, and evaluating a broad array of complex resource programs requiring intensive multiple-use management.
- Prepares and makes policy recommendations and technical proposals and is responsible for the liaison and coordination with Federal, State, local government, and regional offices, and citizen groups and business communities.
- Conducts resource planning and management in coordination with representatives of Federal, State, tribal, and local governments, the general public, public land users, and private landowners.
- Determines work priorities for the Field Office and directs accomplishment of the approved Annual Work Plan (AWP).
- Directs administrative activities in support of operational programs.
- Conducts a viable and open public relations program ranging from media interviews to interaction with individuals of the general public.
