Program Director for Emergency Medicine Residency in Woodbridge, VA with Sentara
Sentara is seeking an experienced Program Director to lead and develop a new Emergency Medicine residency in Woodbridge, VA .
This will include the 2023 Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) application process for a 2026 program start .
The position will involve direct patient care, leadership, teaching, and administrative responsibilities. This is an excellent opportunity to help establish a new GME program and to make a difference in the community by training new physicians and partnering in our mission to improve health every day.
Job Highlights :
- Develop the program curriculum. Maintain current knowledge of national innovations in curriculum form and content.
- Responsible for the recruitment, selection, instruction, supervision, counseling, evaluation, and advancement of residents.
- Develop policies for the program and monitor overall compliance with these policies.
- Provide leadership and direction to ensure compliance with institutional and program-specific requirements as defined by the ACGME, Clinical Learning Environment Review (CLER) Evaluation Committee, and National Residency Matching Program (NRMP).
- Serve as the primary graduate medical education (GME) leader for Sentara Northern Virginia Medical Center in partnership with Virginia College of Osteopathic Medicine.
- Responsible for prudent management of the program’s financial resources.
- M.D. or D.O., licensed to practice medicine in Virginia.
- 3 years of experience as a Core Faculty member in an ACGME-accredited Emergency Medicine program.
