Your Role With Us :
The responsibilities of this role include :
Exhibit Leadership and Autonomy :
- Operate with a high degree of autonomy to drive organizational goals and objectives forward.
- Exercise leadership in identifying and capitalizing on large-scale change and improvement opportunities.
- Lead initiatives with a focus on strategic, long-term benefits to the organization.
- Provide expert guidance to managers and analysts on pharmacy-related projects and other enterprise applications.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement and excellence in project execution.
- Mentor other architects to ensure consistency and high standards across all projects.
- Prepare IS application vision and strategy work products, application and product analysis, white papers, and responses to management queries on applications and product-related topics.
Enhance End-User Experience :
- Focus on improving the experiences of various end users, including patients, providers, executives, managers, affiliates, clinical staff, and support staff.
- Work fluidly across teams such as Business Intelligence, IS Infrastructure, and Information Security to enhance overall user experience.
- Identify and implement strategies to improve the experience and efficiency of all user groups.
- Architect and design solutions with supporting technologies while maintaining budget and environment restrictions.
- Ensure implemented solutions meet the needs and functional requirements of the customer.
Architect Solutions from an Application Layer Perspective :
- Design and oversee the implementation of strategic application solutions.
- Provide architectural guidance to ensure optimal performance and integration of Epic pharmacy applications and other enterprise systems.
- Facilitate the development of innovative solutions to enhance clinical workflows and operational efficiency.
- Lead application design activities and / or review application designs to assure solutions exhibit expected levels of performance, security, scalability, maintainability, and reliability upon deployment.
- Review and approve design decisions prior to implementation to ensure adherence to prescribed guidelines.
Oversee the Integration of Pharmacy Projects and Processes :
- Ensure seamless integration of all pharmacy-related projects and processes.
- Collaborate with Application Managers and informatics teams, training, support, communications, and EDI to support project needs.
- Serve as a consultant for managers and analysts on improving workflow efficiency and issue resolution.
- Lead the evaluation of pending and existing work, providing recommended solutions for governance review and approval.
- Work with other Architects and leaders within the department to coordinate systems infrastructure, data, and communication needs and opportunities.
Promote Best Practices and Continuous Improvement :
- Evaluate and implement best practices based on strategic initiatives.
- Develop, plan, and schedule internal / external reviews and projects.
- Ensure timely and accurate reporting of project outcomes and compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Analyze processes and workflows to determine the most efficient methods for regulatory compliance and operational efficiency.
- Keep abreast of industry trends and tools that could help Salem Health. Present and implement those solutions when necessary.
Manage Metrics and SLA Performance :
- Oversee the compilation and analysis of pharmacy-related ServiceNow Metrics.
- Ensure the organization meets SLAs for pharmacy services and other enterprise applications.
- Provide demonstrations and Tests of Change processes.
Facilitate Stakeholder Collaboration :
- Work collaboratively with key stakeholders to ensure alignment of pharmacy and other enterprise activities.
- Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders to ensure project goals and timelines are met.
- Collaborate with Revenue Cycle, Access, Ambulatory, Inpatient, and other departments to ensure comprehensive pharmacy application support.
- Assist in the development and maintenance of downtime procedures, business continuity, and disaster recovery plans.

Background / Expertise :
- Bachelor's degree in related field required.
- Graduate-level degree preferred.
- Minimum of five (5) years of IT, Healthcare, or related experience required.
- Epic certification required. Epic build experience preferred.
- Minimum of three (3) years of supervisory experience required. Minimum of three (3) years of Epic build experience preferred.
- Strong conceptual, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Solid communication skills, both oral and written.
- Ability to work in department and interdepartmentally to articulate ideas, negotiate resolution of issues, and achieve objectives.
- Able to lead knowledge / content teams and / or meetings.
- Able to adequately represent an area of expertise in larger multi-discipline situations.
- Able to lead others through charged situations and change.
- Constantly stays apprised of the latest trends in the industry.
- Strong organizational and time management skills; ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office and other productivity tools and assigned applications and technologies.
- Experience with IT Service Management tools preferred. ITSM and ITIL knowledge is a plus.
Credentials :
- Essential : Epic Beacon Certification.
- Essential : Epic Willow Inpatient Certification.
- Essential : Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) - w / in 6 months of hire.
