Summary :
The Portfolio Construction Specialist will focus primarily on portfolio construction and implementation, as well trade execution, and will be responsible for the oversight of CWM Investment deliverables including proposal generation, rebalancing, and portfolio analysis.
This individual will ensure that the universe of client portfolios is properly aligned with the views and outlook of the investment team.
They will also serve as the primary point of contact for CWM relating to portfolio management and analysis, and will collaborate frequently with the various departments of CWM.
Primary Responsibilities :
- Serves as member of the Investment Team and is expected to provide investment analysis and proposal generation for prospects and implementation on all portfolio trading, rebalancing, and client reporting efforts.
- Prepares presentations and materials for client meetings including asset allocation information, charts, statistics and other relevant data.
- Will have a strong command for the current investment positioning of the department, including asset allocation, portfolio construction and manager research and selection.
- Will be responsible for implementation and coordination of various technologies and systems related to portfolio management and trading.
- Oversees day-to-day portfolio construction and implementation either through modeled or customized portfolios. Will have a strong command for and implementation and oversight of options strategies.
- Conducts analyses related to gain / loss, cash management and liquidity, risk profiles, etc. as needed.
- Manage process / systems for compliance / consistency relative to investment objectives, guided- and custom-portfolios.
- Participates in client meetings as needed to provide insight surrounding portfolio construct and trading.
- May participate in special projects and broader investment research.
- Forms a partnership and strong working relationship with the firm's investment team as well as the advisors within CWM.
- Performs related duties as assigned.
Preferred Qualifications :
- Bachelor's degree in business or related discipline is required. Advanced degree in finance, accounting or other related fields preferred.
- 5 to 10 years of work experience in an analytical role (preferably in Wealth Management).
- FINRA Series 65 required. CFA, Securities Industry Essentials (SIE) exam and / or CFP preferred. FINRA 4, 7 and 63 licenses preferred.
- Expertise in account-level trading processes as it relates to liquidity, settlement, fee structures, etc.
- Experience with options strategies and trading.
- Must be organized, quantitatively oriented with high attention to detail with the ability to multi-task and work under time constraints.
- Extensive knowledge in asset allocation, portfolio construction process and a broad understanding of capital markets.
- Must have outstanding written and verbal communication skills, and an excellent client service aptitude and attitude.
- Must be a self-starter with the ability to handle many projects at one time, and flexible regarding priority shifts.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and analytical tools including Bloomberg and Morningstar Direct.
Preference for experience with wealth platforms like Black Diamond.
