Job Summary

This role will function as a senior technical quality expert on various hardware and / or software systems and platforms and will coordinate with all other quality functions (supply, mgf, service) to ensure design teams have useful and actionable data to set design improvement priorities and execute design improvements within existing development programs, as well as existing / current product design quality and process improvement priorities.

Assists in APQP deployment and teach, train, coach, mentor design teams in the completion of engineering drawings and specification, PPAPS, DFMEA, PFMEA, Agile, ASPICE, etc.

Acts as active, value-added member of product development teams with assigned tasks aligned with quality and reliability improvement.

Job Responsibilities

  • Partner with engineering for active participation in design reviews and continuously through the development process
  • Solves complex problems such as technical issues and has the ability to provide solutions to problems using both creative processes and analytical methods.

Works independently, requiring guidance on only the most complex situations.

  • Manage and execute assigned product development quality tasks as defined in the product development process, accountable for quality of DFMEAs, PFMEAs and control plans and prevent product defects to achieve short and long-term quality goals.
  • Coordinate with other quality functions to conduct analysis for quality improvements to enable design activities on-time and with improved quality.
  • Create and manage processes related to design quality, knowledge capture, and product launch readiness by being involved throughout the development process from concept through end of life.
  • Proactive engagement in issue resolution through the project team and escalate issues early as appropriate.
  • Drive continuous improvement of product launch processes and product designs for improved quality and customer experience.
  • Ensure critical deliverables and timelines are met for assigned development programs.

Education Requirements

  • HS Diploma or GED Required.
  • Bachelor's Degree Preferred.

Experience Requirements

Required

  • Typically requires a minimum of 5 years of related experience.
  • Demonstrates in depth conceptual and practical knowledge of design quality, practices and tools.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively within a group and / or team and provide guidance to peers, management, and new team members.
  • Proven track record of reviewing designs and determining appropriate testing / controls to ensure implementation of robust solutions.
  • Travel required up to 35%.

Preferred

  • Engineering, design, test, validation experience
  • Experience in manufacturing, product development, or distribution.
  • Motorcycle enthusiast, riding experience and knowledge of Harley-Davidson motorcycles and accessories.

The pay range shown represents the national average pay range for this role. Your pay may be more or less than the stated range and is dependent on your geographic location and level of experience.
