Security Officer Fill-In Job Details
Asbury University is looking for a qualified candidate to fill our open Security Officer Fill-In role.
Job Purpose :
As a uniformed officer of the peace, under the direction of the manager, works to promote a safe and secure campus environment for students, employees and guests.
Essential Functions :
Duties :
- Provides security services.
- Patrols University buildings & property.
- Patrols assigned areas and checks for fire and safety hazards, intruders or any suspicious circumstances.
- Aids University officials in crowd & traffic control, disturbance of the peace, mischief and / or misconduct of students or visitors
- Assists in locking / unlocking of buildings, directs visitors for parking.
- Accept other duties as assigned
Critical Physical Demands :
- Occasionally able to sit and squat
- Occasionally able to lift, work overhead, and perform fine manipulation
- Frequently able to stand and bend
- Frequently able to grasp, push and pull
- Frequently able to climb stairs and ladders
- Frequently able to walk into any area of campus.
- Respond to campus fire alarms and campus accidents
- Must be able to consistently work rd shift
- Works independently
Skill Requirements :
Must be able to read and write
Experience and Training :
- years experience as a security officer, police officer or equivalent preferred.
- Temporary or fill-in security officer may require less experience.
Education :
High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
Supervision Received :
Receives full instructions initially from the Security & environmental Safety Manager.
On job training with training officer before working independently. Daily shift instructions provided as need.
Other requirements :
Must successfully complete a pre-employment drug screen and background check . A committed and dynamic Christian faith is vital along with the ability to support the University’s theological position, lifestyle standards and mission.
