Supportive Living Caregiver $20-23 / HR
Star Developmental Services is looking for charismatic people who are interested in mentoring individuals with developmental disabilities to navigate independence in their own homes.
You will be a mentor who provides caregiving and companionship skills assisting with daily life activities, while partaking in community-based outings that provide socialized interaction.
This is an ideal position for someone who enjoys engaging with others while not being constricted to a traditional work setting.
Available Position :Saturday and Sunday
8 : 00 am - 4 : 00 pm
Qualifications :
- Minimum qualification is a high school diploma or GED
- Active RBT or training to become RBT certified
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities with moderate levels of behavior
- Minimum of 18 years of age
- Clear background check and physical
- Willingness to complete a drug test
- California Drivers license and good driving history
- Willingness to assist people with personal care needs, public transportation training and transportation to community outings and activities
- Strong communication skills and interpersonal skills
Job Description
Registered Behavior Technician will provide direct behavioral interventions in home and community setting. RBT will be responsible for engaging and supporting 21 yr old male inside his own home.
Current position requires a 2 : 1 staff ratio. Staff must have experience in assisting in de-escalation of maladaptive behaviors in home and community.
In addition staff will be assisting with daily living skills, social activities, encourage friends and circles of support.
Increase self-advocacy; assist with shopping, meal preparation, clean-up and laundry. Support Staff must demonstrate a high degree of understanding and commitment to the principles of supported living.
They must understand and accept that supports will be molded to fit the participant’s needs.
