We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for a Human Resources (HR) Assistant in Galveston, Texas. This role is within the HR industry and involves supporting HR processes, welcoming new employees, and providing clerical support to the HR department.
Responsibilities :
- Assist in maintaining records and information related to human resources processes
- Conduct orientation sessions to welcome new employees to the team
- Support the implementation of HR processes and procedures in compliance with policy
- Provide clerical support to the HR department, ensuring smooth operations
- Handle other related duties as assigned, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability
- Utilize HRMS and ADP Workforce Now for managing and processing HR tasks
- Conduct background checks as part of the recruitment process
- Support auditing processes within the HR department
- Utilize skills in customer service to resolve employee inquiries
- Manage benefit functions, ensuring employees are informed and benefits are administered correctly.
- MUST be able to read, write, and speak Spanish fluently
- Familiarity with ATS - Asynchronous Transfer Mode
- Experience with Ceridian and HRMS software
- Knowledge of About Time software
- Familiarity with conducting background checks
- Ability to manage benefit functions effectively
- Exceptional customer service skills
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Good understanding of HR principles and best practices
- Familiarity with employment laws and regulations
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field preferred
- Previous experience in a similar role would be advantageous.
