Duties andTasks :
- Accuratelyprocess highvolume payroll for approximately 3000 employees usingmultiple payroll systems
- Review payroll datafor accuracy before submitting to ensure all pay data successfullyinterfaces between payroll systems
- Coordinateand provide data related to the federal and college work studyprograms
- Follows standard payroll processes andguidelines; complies with various state laws andregulations
- Provides backup for other PayrollProcessors as needed
- Prepares supplementalpayrolls as needed; calculates retroactive salary data as assigned;attends workshops and trainings asdirected.
- Maintains accurate records andmonitors position control retirement salary and benefit relateddata for employees; creates and maintains a database to organizecollect and retrieve data into required reporting formats;
monitorsrecord keeping procedures for accuracy
- Uses avariety of software applications (HCM Cardinal SMARTER TRACK andothers) to process the payroll and run the appropriate payrollreports
- Plans and monitors work productiontimelines to meet strict deadlines in reporting regulations;prepares department correspondence asneeded
- Assists Management in interpreting andapplying payroll and benefit laws rules regulations policies andprocedures; refers active and retired employees to otherappropriate resources as necessary;
- Providesdata for State and Internal auditors and local state or federalagencies
- Responds to salary verificationrequests
- Researches payroll and benefit recordkeeping issues including sick leave vacation balances and performsappropriate action as needed;
provides leave benefit and retirementinformation as requested
RequiredQualifications :
- Occupationalexperience as Payroll Processor.
- Experiencewith large company high volume multistate payrolls and the FederalState and Local taxes that governthem.
- Experience creating reports / queries outof a highvolume payroll system.
