Spencer Ogden is actively searching for a talented and experienced Lead Mechanical Engineer to join a growing Operations team dedicated to delivering local water and wastewater treatment projects.

This position is well-suited for professionals with a strong background in the water / wastewater sector, especially within the EPC framework, and those who have experience with international projects.

Primary Responsibilities :

  • Oversee mechanical engineering activities for water and wastewater treatment initiatives.
  • Work closely with the Project Engineering Manager to ensure the efficient execution of all mechanical engineering functions.
  • Develop and implement processes that improve the quality and effectiveness of engineering operations.
  • Assess process designs from the sales and proposals teams, contributing to P&ID development based on client specifications.
  • Manage both basic and detailed engineering tasks, ensuring adherence to client requirements.
  • Collaborate with various disciplines to ensure mechanical engineering aligns with process, civil, structural, piping, electrical, and instrumentation demands.
  • Evaluate vendor proposals and manage the vendor selection process.
  • Perform comprehensive reviews of equipment lists, datasheets, and fabrication drawings prepared by mechanical engineers and vendors.
  • Facilitate internal and external design reviews, assist with Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), and support commissioning activities.
  • Uphold health, safety, and environmental standards throughout the project lifecycle.

Requirements :

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • At least 10 years in mechanical engineering.
  • Minimum of 3 years in a lead engineering role.
  • Experience in water and wastewater treatment is preferred.
  • Skilled in MS Office and capable of reviewing basic 3D models.
  • Knowledge of API, ASME, AWS, NACE, and AWWA standards.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Experience in a multicultural and international work environment.
  • Willingness to travel as needed for project requirements.
