We have an exciting opportunity for a Turret Punch Press Set Up Operator position in Newport News Virginia! Job Duties entail but are not limited to : Basic preventive maintenance and cleaning of machine and work areasWorking with maintenance and repair technicians to diagnose equipment problems as neededContinuously monitor machine cutting performance and efficiency and make adjustments as neededRead material tags & work orders, selecting correct materialsLocate and move raw material and parts with pallet jack or forkliftProduce sheet metal parts by setting up and operating a CNC Punch PressPerform machine setup including program retrieval and tooling setupStart up and shut down machineProduce the maximum number of parts in minimum time by working efficientlyPerform multiple setups per shift, for short runs and longer production runsProficiency checking accuracy of work using blueprint and precision measuring tools such as calipersCount and record daily production activitySeparate cut parts from scrapComfortable working in fast paced environmentWorking well with engineering personnel and other machine operatorsMust be able to lift up to 75 lbs throughout the shiftFollow all safety rules and maintain a clean working environmentQualifications : Minimum of 2 years of experience Experience in a sheet metal job shop or contract manufacturer is requiredMust be able to lift up to 75 lbs throughout the shiftMust have experience with material loading automationMust have knowledge of turret punch press tooling, how to change & maintainMust be able to edit G codeMust be able to work from blueprints, rough sketches, and customer samples for prototype productionMust be able to stand, walk, sit, bend, twist, squat, reach and perform repetitive hand and finger movementsMust be able to work in cold or hot temperatures in plant Schedule : Monday-Friday12am-8 : 30am or 7am-3 : 30pmPay : $18-$24 / hour based on experience
