Community Youth Services, a 54-year-old nonprofit organization, seeks a passionate individual to join their team as Executive Finance Director.
The Executive Finance Director at Community Youth Services oversees financial operations for the nonprofit organization.
Beyond managing budgets and grants, this role empowers mission-driven staff working with at-risk youth and families. By collaborating closely with program directors and ensuring fiscal responsibility, the Director indirectly empowers the community they serve.

Qualifications :
A Bachelor's degree in business, finance, or accounting with seven years of progressively responsible positions in nonprofit accounting, including sophisticated fund and grant accounting, compliance, and reporting.
Alternatively, a Master's degree in Business Administration and five years of experience in nonprofit accounting with similar responsibilities.
- Demonstrated leadership ability, including team management and interpersonal skills.
- Experience in a senior financial management role, collaborating with executive staff to develop and implement creative financial management strategies.
- Ability to thrive in an evolving environment and work autonomously in a deadline-oriented workplace.
- Capability to establish and maintain a positive leadership model within the organization.
Key Responsibilities :
- Review and approve all journal entries and all reconciliations.
- Maintain audit, deferred revenue, and restricted funding schedules.
- Staff and coordinate the Finance and Investment Committee for the Board of Directors, including reviewing and reporting monthly financials, endowment, and reserve funds.
- Facilitate auditor selection and engagement, ensuring annual audits and 5500 audits receive an unqualified opinion. Oversee agency responses to program audit findings.
Collaborate with external CPAs for Form 990 and Form 5500.
- Help acquire financial and other resources to achieve agency goals.
- Participate in grant writing, review grant submissions, make funding request presentations, develop budgets, and explore new program opportunities for CYS.
- Maintain positive working relationships with Federal, State, and local governmental funding agencies.
- Apply for and maintain federally approved indirect cost rates.
- Review all agency contracts before signature to ensure compliance.
- Develop and maintain agency internal controls.
- Prepare letters, presentations, reports, and other written materials.
- Manage agency risk, procure and review insurance products.
- Oversee cash flow planning, investment, and asset management.
- Develop predictive models and financial analysis to provide insights into CYS operations and business plans.
