GENERAL JOB SUMMARY :
This is a full-time position located on the Estherville campus. Primary responsibility will be the management of the Pilot Workforce Development Grant Program in cooperation with the Aviation and Airport Management Program.
The position will be responsible for managing the timely completion of key tasks in the execution of the program by working with area industry and high school educational institutions across the Iowa Lakes region.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES (% OF TIME) : Constant (-%)
- Plan and execute key tasks in the grant timeline.
- Coordinate grant activities with the marketing and secondary programs departments.
- Identify and recruit program adjunct instructors.
- Complete monitoring and progress reports in a timely manner in cooperation with the Director of Aviation.
- Develop programming for high school students centered on potential careers in the aviation industry.
Frequent (-%)
- Assist the Director of Aviation with assessment reports.
- Update and maintain an annual training calendar for program participants.
- Complete training and training updates in drone technologies according to industry standards.
- Coordinate travel to key aviation industry events in the region.
- Monitor and manage the grant budget.
- Communicate collaboration opportunities with program coordinator as appropriate.
- Contact potential project participants as identified through marketing and on-site meetings.
- Maintain positive relationships with colleagues within the college and nationwide.
Occasional (-%)
- Attend regional aviation industry events.
- Host informational meetings to inform students of the programming available through the grant.
- Conduct orientation sessions with program participants.
- Other duties as assigned.

- Comprehensive computer literacy in terms of spreadsheet utilization with high degree of accuracy.
- Willingness to learn and serve as lead on proprietary software used by the department, Ellucian / Augusoft.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both written and verbally, and deliver oral presentations.
- Possess strong human relations skills and the ability to effectively relate to diverse personalities.
- Flexible to travel, plus work evenings and weekends when necessary.
- Represent the College in a positive manner to employees, students, visitors, and the general public.
- Demonstrate the ability to utilize technology, thorough knowledge of English usage, grammar, punctuation, and arithmetic.
- Ability to access, input, and retrieve information from a computer utilizing Microsoft Office Suite, database, and MIS reporting system.
- Read, understand, and express oneself clearly and effectively in oral and written communications.
- Ability to efficiently perform tasks in an environment of frequent interruptions.
- Possess a positive attitude and assume responsibility, deal effectively with problems, and exercise good judgment within making decisions.
- Successful grant or project management experience.
- Familiarity with economic development agencies and resources of Northwest Iowa or demonstrate proven networking skills.
Establish and maintain good working relationships with administrators, community leaders and colleagues.
SPECIAL DEMANDS :
Sedentary to light work. Position involves sitting most of the time, exerting up to pounds of force occasionally (-%). Stooping, kneeling, crouching, pushing, pulling, and carrying, repetitive motion (-%).
Walking, lifting, and grasping frequently (-%). Talking, listening, and viewing various types of close visual work constantly (-%).
Required to travel utilizing personal vehicle. Must have valid driver’s license, good driving record, and provide proof of insurance.
Employment with Iowa Lakes Community College is dependent upon successful passage of a criminal background check. Must be legally eligible to work in the United States without employer sponsorship.

Associate’s Degree in Aviation, Business or related field required. Grant and project management experience preferred.
