Economic Empowerment Program :
IRC's resettlement model focuses onthe self-sufficiency of our refugee clients. Economic Empowerment supportsclients through job application support, job search assistance, highereducational opportunities, financial coaching, and cash assistance programs.
Interns Responsibilities :
The intern's primary point of contactwill be the Employment Program Coordinator and other caseworkers.
Interns can expect to support refugeeclients' self-sufficiency and employment goals through resume building,providing job readiness training classes, leading DART orientations, andassisting with job applications on behalf of clients.
Interns will also beresponsible for accurately and promptly submitting case notes detailingservices they've provided.
Interns will have the opportunity to supportclients directly in overcoming barriers to economic self-sufficiency. Internswill gain greater insight into the resettlement process for refugees in theDallas area.
IRC places a strong focus on hiring from our intern pool- if youare eager to break into international relations or political science, or arelooking for nonprofit experience, this internship is for you.

Requirements
Must be able to come into the Dallasoffice at least 15 hours a week between 8 : 30 am-4 : 30 pm M-F. Must be willing touse personal vehicle to drive clients to job interviews if needed-internsdo qualify for paid mileage reimbursement.
