School of Pharmacy and Health Professions
The University of Maryland Eastern Shore (UMES) is seeking a full-time, nine-month, tenure-track faculty position in the area of kinesiology (sports management).
The appointment reports to the Chair of Kinesiology. The Department of Kinesiology is one of six departments in the School and the sports management program is the newest degree track.

The School of Pharmacy and Health Professions currently consists of the following departments : Kinesiology, Physician Assistant, Physical Therapy, Rehabilitation Services, and the School of Pharmacy including the Department of Pharmacy Practice and Administration and the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences. Responsibilities
- Instruct a variety of undergraduate courses in sports management.
- Research and scholarly activity in kinesiology / sports management.
- Academic advising undergraduate students.
- Assist with curriculum development and evaluation.
- Support interdisciplinary projects.
- Participate in department and university-wide committees.
- Seek external funding to support research.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Classification 25- Education, Training, and Library Occupations Required Qualifications
- An earned a doctorate degree in sport management or a closely related area of study.
- Must have an academic background and clinical experience in sports management or a closely related area of study.
- A strong commitment to teaching excellence and desire to encourage student engagement in the learning process.
- Strong communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Teaching experience in a university setting.
- Teaching and research expertise in sports management and related exercise science courses.
Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
- Strong communication skills to include written communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively and collegiality with faculty and chair.
