The Endoscopy Technician II assists with delegated tasks of direct and indirect patient care under the supervision of a registered nurse and / or physicians in Endoscopy.
The technician assists with assessment of patient needs and follows through with the designated plan of action. The technician is responsible for the care, handling, and processing of endoscopy procedural equipment and turnover of the procedure room(s).
This individual must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development of the life span, appropriately interpret information relative to the patient's age-specific needs and be able to communicate data reflective of the patient's status.
Must meet two of the following criteria :
- Currently assigned or cross-trained to work in the Phoenix Endoscopy Unit
- Quality Assurance Auditor Ensure staff are practicing at the highest level of scope cleaning ability Assist unit audits- Polyp tracking, Hand Hygiene etc.
- Ancillary Practice Support ancillary practices, such as but not inclusive : Small Bowel Capsule; Carbohydrate Breath Tests, Motility Tests
- Primary Preceptor
- Assisting with diagnostic, interventional, and therapeutic procedures such as ERCP, EUS / EBUS, GI bleeds, food bolus and foreign body removal
- Taking overnight and weekend Endo tech call independently
- Has 1 year of recent equivalent hospital experience
