Role description :

Arcadis is looking for a growth-oriented Senior Renewable Energy Development and Funding Professional to assist with the expansion of our North American Energy Transition services.

This position will support both private and public sector clients, including utilities, renewable energy developers, industrial manufacturing, commercial, government, and quasi-government clients, as well as emerging investment and clean energy innovation entrants to the market.

This position can be based out of any of our US offices.

Role accountabilities :

As a Senior Renewable Energy Development and Funding Professional, you will work within a team in our North American Resilience business group that serves a broad range of clients and project types across many market sectors.

The Resilience business group provides full-service permitting, consulting, engineering, project / program management, and construction services.

We combine technical expertise, a passion to serve, and a willingness to be adaptable in every project to serve industrial, public, and federal clients.

The focus of your work will be to collaborate with our client development, account management, and operations teams to develop relationships, create opportunities to expand our Energy Transition services, and lead planning and technical and financial feasibility studies around renewable energy projects throughout the U.

S. While the primary areas of focus will likely be solar and wind projects (behind the meter, net metered, and utility scale) in this role you are likely to be engaged in evaluations of other clean energy and decarbonization technologies as well (battery storage, hydrogen, CCUS, electrification, etc.

The ideal candidate will have significant experience and market familiarity with renewables development - including output calculations and energy modeling, tariff and interconnection requirements, and local, utility, State, and Federal funding resources.

You will leverage existing and establish new, strong, trusted-advisor relationships to help our clients realize their organizational goals through understanding their needs and providing appropriate solutions.

  • Support market growth and lead project delivery for Renewable Energy and other Clean Energy studies.
  • Work with existing account leadership within targeted high-growth regions and solutions areas.
  • Leverage existing technical and professional relationships to support growth and delivery.
  • Track the market trends and regional landscapes for renewable energy development including policy, regulatory, technology, and finance, providing updates to internal Arcadis teams, and participating in market-facing events to increase Arcadis market profile.
  • As a Subject Matter Expert (SME), lead and coordinate teams of engineers, scientists, digital data specialists, and program managers for the implementation of projects.
  • As SME, support Arcadis energy transition, sustainability, and resiliency service offerings.
  • Lead and participate in growth strategy development & execution, including setting targets, budgets, and forecasts.
  • Lead and participate in Communities of Practice and team building, training, and recruiting to identify and expand delivery resources.
  • Integrate Arcadis global value propositions around Sustainability, Energy Transition, and Seamless Delivery into our Client relationships.
  • Financial Accountability : Compliance with Arcadis internal processes and procedures.
  • Lead by example and participate in corporate and client-specific Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DE&I), Health, Safety, and Well-Being Programs.

Qualifications & Experience :

Required Qualifications :

  • Bachelors degree in a relevant discipline (Engineering, Planning, Business / Economics) or equivalent work experience
  • 15 years of experience in the power utility, energy developer, energy transition, or related markets
  • 10 years of experience with a focus on the identification, evaluation, and implementation of renewable energy projects, including technical and financial feasibility analyses for a range of public and private sector clients
  • Proven business development experience with a track record of successfully developing and maintaining client relationships and identifying and capitalizing on market trends and drivers that provide growth opportunities
  • Proven experience leading the successful delivery of high-quality work products on-time and within budget
  • Experience working with relevant technical and financial modeling tools (e.g., Helioscope, System Advisory Model, REopt, and other Department of Energy Tools)
  • Experience evaluating utility tariff and interconnection requirements in support of renewable energy project development
  • Experience identifying and evaluating potential funding sources for renewable energy projects

  • Active participation in industry-related organizations
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., Certified Renewable Energy Professional)
  • Experience using financial models and developing life-cycle analyses for renewable energy projects
