POSITION SUMMARY :
This position is responsible for triaging all incoming patient concerns as defined within department protocols and guidelines.
This is role is in a call center environment and is a non-patient facing role.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES :
- Follows Triage Protocols, policies, and procedures to include answering and routing phone notes.
- Processes and completes all daily items / tasks. (phone notes, voicemails, emails, flags, refills, ect.)
- Sort and process all documents assigned to triage department.
- Review all Rx renewals daily for any unmatched patients.
- Creates and routes all cardiac and dental clearance request as appropriate.
- Other duties as assigned per the need of the organization and within scope of position.
Position Requirements
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES :
- Must have critical thinking skills and be able to provide information and recommendations based on common knowledge.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations.
- Knowledge of business office procedures.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times.
- Ability to multi-task.
- Ability to work in a fast paced-environment and work well under pressure.
- Ability to work effectively with others.
- Skill in keyboard typing and use of multi-line telephone system.
EDUCATION AND / OR EXPERIENCE :
- Minimum of one (1) year cardiac experience in a medical office or health care field preferred.
- Minimum of 1 year of centralized triage medical office or healthcare setting strongly preferred.
- Completion of an accredited Medical Assisting Program or equivalent.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Medical terminology required.
- Detail oriented.
- Familiarity with cardiac medications and procedures preferred.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
