Position Information
The Department of Education invites applications for a full-time, nine-month, non-tenure track faculty position. If you are passionate about teaching psychology and have a Ph.
D. in psychology or a related field, you might be the perfect fit for this position. Successful candidates will be expected to teach undergraduate courses in various areas of psychology, such as Child and Adolescent Psychology, Developmental Psychology, Personality Psychology, and Abnormal Psychology.
Salary is commensurate with experience and qualifications.The successful candidate will be tasked with developing course materials, preparing and delivering powerful lectures, inspiring meaningful discussions, grading assignments, and being an active member of the university.
Additionally, the successful candidate should have a solid grasp on the use of technology in the classroom and the learning management system, Canvas.
Applicants should have a strong commitment to excellence in teaching and a demonstrated ability to work effectively with a diverse student population.
Applicants should also have relevant teaching experience and evidence of scholarly activity in their psychological area of expertise.
Responsibilities Primary responsibilities for this position include :
- Course Instruction, up to twelve semester credit hours of psychology coursework per semester.
- Development of course materials and curricula.
- Providing course materials and assessments via the LMS, Canvas.
- Grading assignments, tests, and exams.
- Serving on department and university committees.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Classification 25- Education, Training, and Library Occupations Required Qualifications
- Ph.D. in psychology or a related discipline from an accredited institution. ABD candidates will also be accepted.
- Must possess the required knowledge, skills, and abilities associated with a wide range of psychological topics.
- Must be able to demonstrate strong teaching skills.
- Must be able to effectively use and integrate technology in the classroom and the University’s LMS.
- Must be able to multi-task, work independently, and cooperatively with others.
- Excellent organizational and interpersonal communication skills, including written communication, are essential.
- Commitment to mentoring students.
