As a Chemistry Lab Technician specializing in quality control and wet chemistry, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the accuracy, reliability, and efficiency of laboratory operations.
Your responsibilities will revolve around conducting routine chemical analyses, maintaining quality standards, and contributing to the continuous improvement of laboratory processes.
Key Responsibilities :
- Conducting Chemical Analyses : Perform a wide range of qualitative and quantitative chemical analyses using wet chemistry techniques such as titrations, pH, spectrophotometry, and possibly chromatography.
- Quality Control : Execute quality control procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory standards, company protocols, and industry best practices.
This includes conducting routine checks on reagents, instruments, and procedures to maintain accuracy and precision.
Data Collection and Analysis : Record and interpret experimental data accurately, maintaining detailed laboratory notebooks and electronic records.
Analyze results to identify trends, anomalies, and potential issues, and collaborate with senior staff to troubleshoot and resolve problems.
Instrument Maintenance : Perform regular maintenance and calibration of laboratory equipment and instruments to ensure proper functioning and accuracy.
Troubleshoot instrument malfunctions and coordinate repairs as needed.
Safety and Compliance : Adhere to strict safety protocols and standard operating procedures (SOPs) to minimize risks associated with chemical handling and laboratory operations.
Stay updated on relevant safety regulations and ensure compliance with environmental, health, and safety guidelines.
- Documentation and Reporting : Prepare summaries of experimental procedures, results, and conclusions. Communicate findings effectively to colleagues, supervisors, and other stakeholders through written reports, presentations, and verbal discussions.
- Collaboration and Communication : Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including scientists, engineers, and quality assurance personnel, to support research and development projects, troubleshoot issues, and implement process improvements.
Qualifications :
- Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, or related field.
- Hands-on experience with wet chemistry techniques and instrumentation.
- Familiarity with quality control principles and methodologies.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with meticulous attention to detail.
- Proficiency in data analysis software and Microsoft Office applications.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Prior experience in a laboratory setting, preferably in a quality control or analytical chemistry role, is desirable.
