This role is eligible to participate in Zenith’s hybrid work schedule which provides the flexibility to work from home on select days of the week according to the in-office schedule established by regional executive leadership.
Selected candidate must be able to report into the geographic office on a weekly basis.
Working under the direct supervision of the Subrogation Manager, incumbent performs a variety of duties including, but not limited to subrogation analysis;
drafting of documents, reports and correspondence, reviewing factual portions of legal documents, and emails; and assisting claims staff and others with all aspects of workers compensation subrogation.
The essential functions of this position include, but are not limited to, the following :
- Subrogation relating to Motor Vehicle Accidents (MVAs).
- Responsible for overall day-to-day handling of majority of MVA subrogation claims in selected jurisdictions.
- Evaluates and identifies workers compensation claims for subrogation potential.
- Identifies and locates third-parties, as needed.
- Prepares Initial File Reviews and establishes Plans of Action.
- Communicates with claims staff, third-parties and third-party adjusters as needed.
- Obtains evidence needed for subrogation, such as police reports and witness interviews.
- Prepares and sends related documents, such as initial notice letters to liability insurers and uninsured third-parties, periodic update letters, and demand letters.
- Settles MVA claims within limited authority levels.

- Tracks all subrogation recoveries nationwide, maintains subrogation metrics, and provides data on subrogation recovery results and performance as needed in accordance with NASP industry benchmarks.
- Carries out restitution enforcement activities by preparing and submitting claims for restitution, then follows up and reports recoveries as needed.
- Assists with non-MVA subrogation claims as needed.
- Drafts demand letters on non-MVA claims.
- Assists with drafting and filing subrogation complaints as needed.
- Covers for other subrogation staff as needed.
- Maintains file transparency by keeping accurate and timely notes of all activity.
- Communicates with claims staff as needed to provide excellent customer service.
- Applies principles of logical thinking to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

Education, Skills, and Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
- 1+ Years workers compensation subrogation required.
- Demonstrated perseverance and willingness to stay on task until job is completed.
- Works collaboratively and cooperatively with others in a team-oriented environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
- Excellent analytical skills with an ability to understand complex legal and medical documents.
- Strong organizational skills, interpersonal skills, and attention to detail.
- Knowledge of basic court procedures applicable to subrogation.
- Valid Driver's License in good standing.
The expected salary range for this position is $60,034.40 to $75,043.00. Actual pay will be adjusted based on experience, geographic location, and other job-related factors as permitted by law.
Qualifications may warrant placement in a different job level.
