Lead Teacher Aide
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS :
- Must be 21 years of age.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Valid State or NCLB Paraprofessional Certificate.
- Must be capable of effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Must be able to lift, push, pull, and carry 50lbs., stand for extended periods of time, walk, grasp, reach, stoop, crouch, and crawl.
- Must have a valid Illinois driver’s license and the ability to qualify as a DCFS driver.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS :
- An Associate or Bachelor degree in an education or human services related area.
- Experience working with people with developmental disabilities.
- Experience working in a classroom setting.
- Supervisory experience.
STANDARD OF PERFORMANCE :
Under the direction of the classroom teacher, the Lead Teacher’s Aide assists with guidance of Educational Specialists and is involved in all assessment, evaluation and provision of educational activities within the classroom.
