About the Team :

Building a world where people can safely discover, create and connect. The Trust & Safety (T&S) team at TikTok helps ensure that our global online community is safe and empowered to create and enjoy content across all of our applications.

We have invested heavily in human and machine-based moderation to remove harmful content quickly and often before it reaches our general community.

As a Law Enforcement Outreach Manager, you will be the liaison officer to strategic law enforcement agencies in the Americas region, with a focus on Spanish-speaking Latin America.

This position would entail frequent travel to countries in Latin America.

It is possible that this role will be exposed to harmful content as part of the core role / as part of project / in response to escalation requests / by chance.

This may occur in the form of images, video, and text related to every-day life, but it can also include (but is not limited to) bullying;

hate speech; child safety; depictions of harm to self and others, and harm to animals.

Responsibilities :

• You'll work closely with legal and public policy teams to develop key partnerships between TikTok and strategic law enforcement agencies with a focus on Internet safety and security;
• You'll develop proactive outreach programs to law enforcement agencies, to raise awareness on TikTok processes such as submissions of emergency data disclosure requests, other requests relating to data, and TikTok's policies for protecting user privacy and responding to legal requests;
• You'll support child safety and emergency response teams, and coordinate with internal investigation teams to develop referral processes to law enforcement agencies;
• You'll work closely with our internal legal team and external counsel in responding to governmental requests for data.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications :

• You are experienced in working or engaging with law enforcement authorities at an international level;
• You have work experience in the safety / security field, and / or as an analyst or investigator with a safety, law enforcement, or security focus;
• You have experience with global privacy laws, regulations, and industry guidelines, especially those relevant for social media and Internet companies;
• You have strong public speaking and presentation skills;
• You are available to frequently travel within the Americas;
• You have full working proficiency in English and Spanish.

Preferred Qualifications :

• You have a law enforcement or other government investigator background, especially in cybercrime investigations, and experience in business administration or program management would be an added advantage;
• Besides English and Spanish fluency, Portuguese skills will be considered a plus as the role will primarily cover all Americas market.
