Who We Seek

ESS seeks an Instructional Aide / Teacher Assistant with a strong classroom presence to foster a positive learning environment.

The Instructional Aide has the ability to successfully serve as a facilitator in a classroom's physical space while supporting students learning in a virtual environment.

The Instructional Aide will serve as a teacher assistant to a virtual instructor from Proximity Learning (PLI). This position requires someone who is comfortable using a variety of technology platforms as a teacher assistant, to support student learning.

Responsibilities

• The teacher assistant will maintain strong classroom systems and procedures to maximize students' learning time
• Set clear expectations and rules for students' success in a digital learning environment
• Manage students' behavior in order to foster positivity and productivity in the classroom
• Communicate regularly with the PLI virtual teacher to build a collaborative partnership as well as coordinate with other instructional aides and paraprofessionals
• Be the liaison of grade input from Proximity's Canvas LMS to the district grading system
• Troubleshoot basic technology support for students as needed
• Manage updates to student enrollments via PLI Connect
• Communicate with parents and school admin regarding students' learning and progress
• Communicate initial login information to students at the start of the program

Requirements

• High School Diploma
• Completion of Clearances (background check, fingerprinting, etc.)
• Completion of Proximity Learning's Facilitator Training and Orientation Course
• Experience working with student
• Prior classroom experience as a Facilitator, Instructional Aide, Teacher Assistant or Paraprofessional is a plus.
