Under the general direction of the Business Taxes Administrator (BTA) II of the Collections Support Bureau, Bankruptcy Section, the BTA I is responsible for a variety of compliance, audit, and administrative functions in the department.
The BTA I manages and controls vital departmental day-to-day operational functions relating to personal and corporate bankruptcy.
These operational functions include : outreach, advisory, return preparation / e-filing, delinquencies, permit revocations, bankruptcy claim approval, directing Attorney General referral preparation, post-bankruptcy petition collections, administrative activities relative to enforcing applicable laws, regulations, codes, policies and procedures, and overall office administration and support.
As part of these operational functions, the BTA I directs staff to conduct other functions, including bankruptcy investigations, analyses and evaluations of taxpayer or court provided documents, books and records, and / or financial documents.
The incumbent integrates and applies practices, policies and procedures across both compliance and audit functions. The BTA I also has the responsibility to motivate, train and develop staff and monitor employee performance and to perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Under Government Code 14200, this position may be eligible for full or part-time telework for eligible candidates residing in California.
