We have openings for Day Services Assistants in our Day Program.
SUMMARY OF POSITION :
The Day Services Assistant provides comprehensive care to adults with developmental disabilities in a day program.
- Works with groups of individuals, organizes activities and teaches independent living skills such as money management, safety, social and communication.
- Plans and implements arts and crafts projects, assists individuals in the use of community resources, i.e. parks, library and other recreational facilities.
- Transports individuals to volunteer sites and teaches them work skills at those sites.
- Ensures the safety of individuals in all settings by following specified supports and safeguards as delineated on Staff Action Plan.

Day Services Assistant Schedule - 7 : 30 am to 3 : 30 pm or 8 : 30 am to 4 : 00 pm
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS :
- High School Diploma / GED or some college, studying in the field of Human Services.
- A valid New York State driver's license for three(3) years is required.
- Prior work experience in a human service field working with individuals with developmental disabilities preferred.
- The ability to write daily entries or notes about the client's services is required.
Job Type : Full-time
Pay : From $16.00 per hour
Schedule : Full-time, Day shift. Monday to Friday
Education : High school or equivalent (Required)
Experience : Working with people with developmental disabilities : 1 year (Required)
License / Certification : NYS Driver's License for at least 3yrs (Required)
