Senior Buyer

• Senior Buyer* *Permanent Full-Time Direct Hire Role Located in Decatur, IL - 100% Onsite* Open to relocation - (reimbursement package options) *Schedule & Shift Hours : * Monday - Friday 8 : 00 am - 5 : 00 pm*Salary Range : * $85K - $105k (pay based on experience) *Must haves : Bachelor’s degree required* Manufacturing environment industry experience as a Buyer / Purchaser* 5+ years of supply chain and buyer and / or purchasing experience* Must be highly skilled in negotiating, work orders, planning, scheduling & monitoring inventory levels *Additional details below : *The Senior Buyer will evaluate supplier quotes and services to determine most desirable suppliers while maintaining day to day communication with suppliers to ensure on-time delivery, system data integrity, and ordering parameters for individual materials, all while earning a competitive base salary and full benefit offerings for a well-rounded total package for the right individual.
• Essential Duties and Responsibilities : Responsible for purchasing and negotiating MRO items, equipment, and supplies; supporting the maintenance department as needed* Responsible for purchasing and negotiating production materials* Responsible for issuing work orders, planning, and scheduling production* Evaluate supplier quotes and services to determine most desirable suppliers* Maintain day to day communication with suppliers to ensure on-time delivery, system data integrity, and ordering parameters for individual materials* Maintain ideal inventory levels to ensure on-time deliveries, while maximizing turns, and minimizing carrying costs* Rely on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals* Perform a variety of complicated tasks.

A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected* Understand the dynamics of effective teamwork in order to attain higher levels of performance* Demonstrate a commitment to engage teams in other departments or divisions of the organization* Understands and can clearly demonstrate fluency in commercial components of contract / supplier agreements, INCO terms etc.

Required Experience and / or Education : Strong written and verbal communication skills* Understands lean manufacturing and can demonstrate various lean practices* Ability to effectively work in a team.
