Job Title : Georgia Remote K-12 School Sign Language Interpreter, 1 : 1
Position Type : Full-time(37.5 hours / week) , Contract (2024-2025 School Year)
Job Description : We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Sign Language Interpreterfor the 2024-2025 school year. In this role, you will be responsible for providing interpretation and support services to and elementary or high school student who are deaf or hard of hearing, ensuring their access to educational content and facilitating communication within the classroom setting.
This is a fully remote position, offering flexibility and the opportunity to work from anywhere within the United States.
Responsibilities :
- Provide sign language interpretation for students in K-12 classrooms, including lectures, discussions, and other educational activities.
- Foster effective communication between students, teachers, and other school staff members.
- Adapt interpreting style and techniques to meet the needs of individual students.
- Collaborate with teachers and educational professionals to support student learning and development.
- Maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times.
Requirements :
- Fluency in American Sign Language (ASL) and / or other relevant sign languages.
- 3.5 EIPA score and a pass on the written examination, or RID certification.
- Previous experience working as a sign language interpreter in educational settings, preferably K-12 schools.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and effectively manage time in a remote work environment.
- Bachelor's degree in Sign Language Interpretation, Education, or a related field (preferred).
