About the Role & Program
Walt Disney Imagineering is the creative force that imagines, designs and brings to life all Disney theme parks, resorts, attractions and cruise ships worldwide.
Working across a spectrum of teams that range from creative and conceptual to scientific and technical, we blend an innovative mixture of storytelling, art, science and technology to create immersive experiences, memorable destinations, and innovative entertainment for families around the globe!
The Intern will work with the team responsible for developing and communicating creative concepts and updates, relevant content / guidelines for theme park attractions, and / or other themed entertainment venues.
What You Will Do
The Creative Development Inclusive Strategies team collaborates and strategizes with Imagineers in their creative design and storytelling process, to ensure that all Disney Experiences are relevant, inclusive, and welcoming to our Guests.
The team is dedicated to connecting Guests and Consumers to the Disney brand and IPs, strategically, authentically, creatively, and emotionally, by influencing and creating innovative and immersive experiences, entertainment, and products.
You will have the opportunity to :
Work on multiple projects that foster growth, learning, and awareness of different cultures
Collaborate with various internal functional managers, external speakers, and organizations
Support the team in developing the scope and schedule for various projects / programs
Coordinate logistics for various Inclusive Strategies programs, guidelines, and guardrails
Collaborate with other team members in developing ideas which may include participation in brainstorming sessions for updating current or new experiences
Develop and design creative presentations and other materials
Research various topics focusing on culture, global communities, and guest experience
Required Qualifications & Skills
Familiarity with inclusive standard processes
Ability to work with diverse group of people
Proficient knowledge in multiple cultures, subjects, styles, and artistic media
Experience with written communication platforms
Possess excellent creative problem-solving skills
Good visual storytelling and data interpretation skills
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Ability to communicate clearly
Training in arts, hospitality, theater, or entertainment
Preferred Qualifications
Proficiency in Presentation tools such as Keynote or PowerPoint
Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Teams, and Office Suite
Familiarity with cloud file storage systems
Basic Photoshop or Illustrator skills (or other Adobe Suite products)
Ability to coordinate multiple layers of documentation
Proficiency in Research tools and / or database management tools
Education
Undergraduate students in their Junior year or higher, or graduated within the past 6 months, earning a BA or BFA in the arts, or in a related design field
Be enrolled in an accredited college / university taking at least one class in the semester / quarter (spring / fall) prior to participation in the internship program OR must have graduated from a college / university within 6 months at time of application posting OR currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Internship
Eligibility Requirements & Program Information
Be at least 18 years of age
Possess unrestricted work authorization
Have not completed one year of continual employment on a Disney internship or Disney College Program
Additional Information
Candidates for this opportunity MUST meet all of the below requirements :
Able to have a consistent, reliable work schedule throughout the internship
Fully available from for the duration of the internship, roughly 40 hours each week
Program length - The approximate dates of this internship are JANUARY - JUNE 2025
Housing - provide own housing for the duration internship program in the Glendale, CA area
Transportation - provide reliable transportation to / from work
Valid US Driver's license
The pay rate for this role in California is $26.50 per hour for undergraduate students and $27.50 per hour for graduate level students.
