Katie Weigel with Robert Half Finance and Accounting is recruiting to fill a Purchasing Agent role for a manufacturing company located in Minden.
The primary responsibilities include :
- Obtains requirements by verifying, preparing, and forwarding purchase orders; verifies receipt of items; authorizes payment.
- Verifies purchase requisitions by comparing items requested to master list; clarifying unclear items; recommending alternatives.
- Forwards available inventory items by verifying stock; scheduling delivery.
- Prepares purchase orders by verifying specifications and price; obtaining recommendations from suppliers for substitute items;
obtaining approval from requisitioning department.
- Obtains purchased items by forwarding orders to suppliers; monitoring and expediting orders.
- Verifies receipt of items by comparing items received to items ordered; resolves shipments in error with suppliers.
- Keeps information accessible by sorting and filing documents.
- Provides purchasing, planning and control information by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data and trends.
To be considered candidates should have :
JOB QUALIFICATIONS :
1. Two years of purchasing experience and an associate’s degree or five years of purchasing experience
2. Ability to work independently and also as a team member
3. Strong communication skills and good technology skills including MS Excel and ERP systems experience.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a purchasing role within the manufacturing industry
- Proficiency in Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems
- Familiarity with buying processes in a manufacturing setting
- Strong communication skills to effectively liaise with suppliers and internal teams
- Ability to process purchase requisitions timely and accurately
- Knowledge of drafting and managing purchase agreements
- Experience in calculating and analyzing purchase price variance
- Ability to coordinate and manage purchasing activities
- Experience in working within a purchasing department and executing purchasing functions.
