Overview
As Wellness & Project Coordinator, this 38-hour per week position will be responsible for assessing the campus wellness climate and developing programs using current resources to assist individuals, groups and the campus as a whole to be healthier.
As the project coordinator, this position is responsible for performing a variety of complex financial, technical and support services involving managing stipends and budget, managing documents and deadlines, event and project coordination, assisting staff with student recruitment, and other related duties.
Responsibilities
WARM - Wellness Coordinator
- Coordinate with PA / MPH Program and Office of Student Success Services to collect data, create, market, administer, promote, and evaluate wellness programs for TUC students.
- Expand the Wellness, Academic, Achievement, Resilience, and Mindfulness (WARM) program on campus to host at minimum monthly events for PA and other students, faculty and staff.
- Comply with and observe all health codes, departmental service standards, and to all health, safety, rules and regulations by the University, City, County, and State health agencies.
- Led wellness activities and support student led-iniative.
- Work with the grant project director to create and implement wellness opportunities for our community clinical partners.
- Monitor grant / project timelines and implements procedures to fulfill grant / project criteria
Grant / Accreditation / Project Coordination
- Manages systems for data collection, reporting criteria and grant records
- Research and compile data for grants / projects and self-study reports
- Monitors grant / project timelines
- Creates, monitors and maintains audit files for program compliance
- Designs and implements procedures to fulfill grant / project objectives and criteria
- Prepares reports including basic statistical summaries and comparisons
- Train, coordinate, and review work of project staff / student assistants
- Assists in monitoring revenue and expenditures for grants / projects
Budget / Financial Management of Grant Funds
Assists in the maintenance of grant budgets and makes projections regarding expenditure patterns.
Qualifications
Required :
- Bachelor’s required with experience especially in public health, kinesiology / exercise science, social work, psychology, etc.
- Experience with spreadsheet, statistical, and database software including O365 products.
- Experience with technical writing, including grant writing or accreditation reports.
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize among multiple projects.
- Demonstrated commitment to the mission of the program.
- Successfully completing a wellness coach or health training program
- Knowledge of the administrative software programs such as Outlook, Word, Excel and Google
- Exceptional organizational and customer service skills
Recommended :
- Experience with budgets
- Experience with newsletters, brochures, and other publications
- Understanding of the PA profession
- Master degree in related field

- 1 year experience of wellness or fitness coaching / training.
- Ability to assess strengths, barriers and coping skills around wellness.
- Able to articulate a sustainable wellness vision.
- Able to apply coaching skills such as curious inquiry, empathy, reflective listening, and goal setting.
- Able to work in an environment that is subject to temperature changes.
- Able to tolerate standing and lifting throughout the workday.
- Ability to exhibit and maintain a high standard of professional knowledge, appearance, behavior, and attitude.
- Must work safely to reduce the risk of injury to self, co-workers, and campus faculty, staff, and students.
- Promptly reports personal injury to Supervisor and seeks first aid as required.
OTHER TRAINING OR CERTIFICATION :
- Valid National Board for Health and Wellness Coaching certification preferred
- Valid NASM, NSCA, ACSM personal training certification, group fitness certification (ACSM, AFAA, ACE, ISSA, NASM, etc), yoga, and / or Pilates certification preferred
- CPR and First Aid certification preferred
Maximum Salary
USD $70,000.00 / Yr.
Minimum Salary
USD $65,000.00 / Yr.
