POSITION SUMMARY :
Participates in Child Development Center family-style meal and snack assembly, distributions, retrieval, ware washing and garbage disposal activities following established procedures.
Maintains a clean and sanitary work environment. Participates in continuous quality improvement activities and educational experiences in support of departmental philosophy and objectives, as well as Health System Initiatives.
EDUCATION / TRAINING :
High School diploma or GED. College Credit in Early Childhood Education desirable.
LICENSURE / CERTIFICATION :
Certified Food Handler / Sanitation, Area Public Health department (Current and active certificate)
First Aid Certificate, CPR Certificate within 90 days of hire, and DCFS Background clearance through Finger Printing Network
EXPERIENCE / SKILLS / ABILITIES :
Good oral communication and customer service skills. Ability to effectively and respectfully interact with staff, children and their families and the public within the organization.
Skill in communicating with vendors and support departments of the organization including Food Service and logistics staff.
Ability to effectively deal with disgruntled customers and resolve complaints. Successful completion of annual job specific competencies and skill verification tools required.
Contribute to high quality of the departmental service through teamwork and individual contributions to improvement initiatives.
Respect for the worth of the program for group care of very young children and service to the SAH employee families.
