Position summary : Responsible includes business development, pursuit activity, managing projects, internal and external collaboration, and managing staff involved in a variety of projects that include facility construction and rehabilitation, transit, highway, and rail transportation, water and other infrastructure.
Essential functions and responsibilities
- Develop and coordinate strategic growth Plan with office managers and practice leaders.
- Establish and grow market presence in area through marketing and business development.
- Manage financial budget for section and allocate resources accordingly.
- Lead and contribute to development of proposals for business pursuits.
- Serve as an expert resource.
- Recruit / hire and manage assigned staff.
- Perform project management tasks as required including development of management plans, cost estimates, budgets, scopes;
- managing project staff including sub-consultant and contractor activity; lead and attend meetings; review and approve pertinent documents;
monitor progress; reporting, etc.

Required Skills
Required Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, construction engineering, construction management, or related field from an accredited program.
- Registered Professional Engineer (PE) license or equivalent.
- Minimum of ten years of construction experience serving as a Construction Manager, Construction Management Representative, Owner’s Representative, Construction Superintendent, or equivalent role.
Preferred Experience
- CAPM or PMP
- Experience working with local clients at the Federal, county and state level
- Project management and business development experience
- Experience managing multidiscipline project teams
Working Conditions
Work is performed in both an office and field (construction) environment. Office to field time is approximately 50% 50%. Field work requires climbing, walking and standing at a construction site and may be outside in heat / cold, wet / humid, and dry / arid conditions.
Some lifting (up to 25 lbs.) may be required. Travel may be required.
