Job Description

PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES :

• Assists in designing, modifying, developing, writing, and implementing software programming applications
• Assists in supporting and / or installing software applications
• Participates in the testing process through test review and analysis, test witnessing, and certification of software
• Provides inputs for documentation of new or existing programs
• Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of complicated tasks
• Assists with software engineering support to include the development, maintenance, testing, and certification & accreditation of software and operating system modifications for operating system integration efforts.

To include the maintenance / modification of existing software code and operating system configurations, establishment and design of new code, and implementation of enhancements to system capabilities

Assists with software engineering support to include development, maintenance, testing, and certification & accreditation of software for Human Machine Interface (HMI) Graphical User Interfaces (GUIs).

To include maintenance of existing source code, establishment and design of new code, and implementation of enhancement to system capabilities

• Assists with the support of the following programming languages (C, C++, Java, and Python), and be able to provide resources for other languages as the technology changes or new languages are developed or required
• Assists with the support development of neural networks and machine learning applications using industry tools and techniques, such as Python, Py Torch, Tensor Flow, MATLAB, and LabVIEW
• Assists with software engineering support to include the development, maintenance, testing, and certification & accreditation of software modifications for command-and-control development.

To include the maintenance of existing software code, establishment and design of new code, and implementation of enhancements to system capabilities

• Assist with the development of software to facilitate operation of radio frequency distribution components, antennas, and feedlines in accordance with specifications and engineering standards for installation in either a lab environment or shipboard as necessary
• Assists with the development and design of firmware for components or system blocks that meet specified requirements
• Performs and reports on functional testing of software, including unit testing, integration testing, system testing, and acceptance testing
• Provides software troubleshooting and resolution for specified software applications

Requirements

MINIMUM SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS :

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science
• One + (1+) year(s) experience in network computer equipment and routine computer programming
• Minimum Certification as 621 (or similar) at the Basic level per DoDD
• Understanding of the following programming languages :
• Java
• Python
• Expert level ability to install software applications and perform software troubleshooting
• Experience maintaining and modifying existing code and Operating Systems configurations
• Experience with unit testing, integration testing, system testing, and acceptance testing
• Experience designing, modifying, developing, writing, and implementing software programming applications
• Possess a current Department of Defense (DoD) Secret security clearance
• Excellent verbal and written communication

DESIRED SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS :

• One + (1+) year(s) experience supporting DoD or Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWC) Programs
• Thorough understanding of NSWC operations
• Demonstrated proficiency in one or more of the following programming languages :
• Java
• Python
• Experience with the development, maintenance, testing, and certification & accreditation of software for Human Machine Interface (HMI) Graphical User Interfaces (GUIs)
• Experience with Python, Py Torch, Tensor Flow, MATLAB, and / or LabVIEW
• Understanding of the specifications and engineering standards for installation in both lab environment and / or shipboard environments
• Experience performing and reporting on non-functional software testing, including
• Security testing
• Performance testing
• Usability testing
• Compatibility testing

SRC IS A CONTRACTOR FOR THE GOVERNMENT, THIS POSITION WILL REQUIRE CITIZENSHIP AS WELL AS, A GOVERNMENT SECURITY CLEARANCE AT THE SECRET LEVEL
