Job Summary
Support the CHNA processes by collaborating with internal and external stakeholders for data collection, convening community advisory board meetings, and implementing plans to address health needs.
Coordinates system-wide community benefit programs, collaborates with hospital departments for data collection, and establishes communications strategy for conveying impact and reach.
Evaluates program effectiveness, advocates for the hospital in community forums, and secures funding through grant writing and fundraising efforts.
As part of the Office of Community Health, advances the vision to create a healthy future for every child, and collaborates with community organizations to ensure South Florida is a place where children thrive.
Job Specific Duties
- Support the comprehensive Community Health Needs Assessments, collaborating with internal and external stakeholders for data collection and analysis.Â
- Convenes quarterly gatherings with the community advisory board to ensure ongoing community input and feedback.Â
- Develops and implement plans based on CHNA findings to address identified health needs and disparities.Â
- Serves as a liaison between all Community Benefit and CHNA contacts and Nicklaus Childrenâ€s Hospital.Â
- Coordinates, manages, and leads the system-wide identification, tracking, documentation, reporting, analysis, and interpretation of community benefit programs, activities, and services.Â
- Collaborate with hospital departments to ensure the regular and accurate collection of financial and impact data for annual reporting as part of Schedule H.Â
- Establishes collaborations with community organizations to enhance program impact and reach.Â
- Provides training and education in the area of Community Benefit and CHNA initiatives.
- Establishes and implements evaluation frameworks to measure the effectiveness and outcomes of community benefit programs.Â
- Prepares and presents regular reports to hospital leadership, board members, and stakeholders.
- Serves as a representative of Nicklaus Children's Hospital in community forums, meetings, and coalitions.Â
- Creates repository of Community Benefit work and creates monthly content packages to facilitate storytelling and convey impact.Â
- Identifies and secure funding opportunities for community health initiatives and programs.Â
- Collaborates with the development team for the creation of compelling grant proposals and reports.Â
- Organizes, prioritizes, and completes multiple tasks accurately and timely.Â
Qualifications
Minimum Job Requirements
3-5 years of experience working with community organizations and / or healthcare environment
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish preferred.
- Excellent critical thinking, communication and problem-solving skills.
- Strong computer applications and project management skills.
- Interpersonal and communications skills to establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities, meetings, projects, and deadlines.
- Ability to travel throughout South Florida for meetings and community events which may take place outside of standard business hours.
